http://rs4goldsell.com/wp-admin/post-new.php Introduction to Structured PvP

The Structured PvP in Guild Wars 2 is some of the best PvP I have ever played. It’s equal to, and even better than World of Warcrafts. The main difference between these two games, however, is that in Guild Wars 2, no matter your level, you will always be upgraded to the max level cap, with the appropriate equipment. This allows the sPvP system in GW2 to expand more upon skill level than the amount of time one spent within a game.

To start in sPvP, a character has to join the lobby-like area, referred to as the “mists”. Here, you may add on the appropriate equipment, skills, and items, while practicing against test-dummies (AI) or real players. To get to the mists, you can press the “mists hotkey” (currently H unless you changed it) when you enter, the level cap will be automatically boosted to 80, or the current maximum in the game. All the character skills are unlocked, appropriate armor is had (and can be changed at the merchants within the mists if you so please, for free), and your character is free to explore the level 80 plunder that he can so enjoy until he has to inevitably join the real GW2 world again.

World versus World Activities Overview

When it comes to world versus, people usually think “Probably need a guild or some form of organized group to get anything done”. This is completely false being that in Guild Wars 2 pvp you can both be in a group AND play alone while still being effective to the victory of your team. We aren’t talking about telling you a secret on how to take down a whole keep by yourself but small things that add up to the overall picture.

BTW im typing this as Hurricane Sandy is threatening to rip off my roof. (video game dedication FTW). Sorry for any typos.

Supply Camp Harassment:

When it comes to large keeps or forts, players require supply to keep a firm hold on the location which involves constructing new siege weapons and repairing the weapons plus the gate/wall. Supple camps send constant dolyaks to these locations to help garrison. Attacking locations works just about the same except the attacking army usually does more destruction than actual repair. The supply camps are scattered across the map in so many locations making it simple to choose a target. If you are a high level and know how to pick NPC target off one by one (or are amazing at juking) a supply camp can be taken by a single person. It time is of the essence a small band of 4-6 random people can take the camp pretty quickly. These small points can have a large impact on the outcome of a larger battle. Besides this activity, the following ones should be easy for fairly small groups to complete without

Xsyon: Prelude’s Option for Free Play is Available

If you have been wanting to try Xsyon and check out its post-apocalyptic world without paying cash, here is a good news for you. It was just announced by Notorious Games a free-to-play option for the current Prelude phase of Xsyon is available.

In an ongoing campaign to bring Xsyon to a wider audience, today we open our doors to all players to join the Xsyon community for Free.

Xsyon used to offer a free trial server, but weekly wipes prevented folks from really experiencing parts of the game. Now, new players can game alongside everyone else on the main server without any cash commitment. F2P also allows any survivors who left the chance to come back and reestablish themselves in the Tahoe Basin before the game moves to its next phase, Apocalypse.

As with many F2P options, there are some limitations, especially regarding the formation and management of tribes.

Free Play includes the following limits:

Players without paid Citizen Game Account access:

Players cannot start new Tribes
Players cannot join new Tribe charters
Players can join tribes but they do not add to the tribe size
Skills are effectively limited to 30
Players cannot use gained experience to level up

Players with Citizen Game Account access without a paid Monthly subscription:

Skills are effectively limited to 30
Players cannot use gained experience to level up

Layoffs hit NCsoft as firm undergoes realignment

Guild Wars 2 publisher NCsoft has laid off several staff as part of a studio “realignment”, it has confirmed.Guild Wars 2 Screenshot

The firm’s PR director Lincoln Davis confirmed the news to PC Gamer, revealing that “several” staff had been cut at the Seattle-based studio, but stopped short of revealing specific numbers.”NCsoft is realigning internal publishing resources to better suit the needs of our game development studios,” said Davis. “As a result of the realignment, several employees and contract positions were affected. This was a very tough decision to make and wish the best for all NCsoft employees in their next ventures.”

The news comes one year after NCsoft issued redundancies across studios in Seattle, Austin and Brighton.

It’s unclear how the latest round of layoffs may impact Guild Wars 2 – if at all – which itself was the target of hacker attacks back in September 2012.

Hackers stole “lists of email addresses and passwords from other games and web sites and are systematically testing Guild Wars 2 looking for matching accounts,” said the developer at the time.

Guild Wars 2 review: The final verdict

We’ve only dipped our toes in PVP, and have yet to experience any high level end-game content. So this review is based mostly on PVE. We’ve tested all eight classes and worked our way through a large portion of the human and norn story quests. So bear that in mind as you read on. There’s a score at the end, sure, but it’s subject to change. But what this review will do is tell you if Guild Wars 2 is worth buying, whether you’re an MMO virgin or a hardened veteran.

The freeform quest design is the game’s greatest strength. Not just in terms of gameplay, but in how it brings players together. You don’t have to collect quests from NPCs and turn them in; they automatically trigger when you enter an area. They’re made up of multiple objectives across a specific area of the map, and each one you complete fills up a progress bar. The quest is complete when the bar is filled, and the reward is delivered straight to your mailbox.

Having four or five things to do in each quest cleverly hides the grind and repetition that plagues most online RPGs. You’re still just killing and collecting things, but the typical MMO objectives are always mixed up with bizarre and entertaining mini-games to keep things interesting. This means you can alter your play style depending on your mood. If you don’t feel like fighting mobs, there’s always an alternative. You can finish most quests without even raising your weapon.

Better still, you never feel lonely. If another player is in the middle of killing an enemy, you can help and it’ll count towards both of your progress bars. It’s this collaboration that makes Guild Wars 2 an incredibly social experience, even if you aren’t playing with friends. The large amount of players currently invading the game’s servers is not unusual for an MMO at launch; but seeing them all working together is. You won’t spend all your time in the game silently grinding through quests on your own; you’ll be doing them alongside massive groups of other players.

World events continue this idea of player interaction by giving everyone taking part in the quest the same progress bar. These occur randomly, and when one is triggered you’ll see most players in the area run towards it. Some of these are huge in scale, and see you battling enormous bosses like the towering Shadow Behemoth in Queensdale. You don’t even have to worry about being too high level to take part; the game automatically scales your character down. You’ll frequently see players with top tier gear fighting alongside freshly spawned newbies.

Sometimes enemies will attack fast travel points and make them inactive, which gives players an extra incentive to band together and repel the invaders. In World of Warcraft you’d have to organise raids or wait in a queue to experience these big group boss fights; in Guild Wars 2 they’re everywhere, and anyone in the area can join in instantly. It’s a level of accessibility rarely seen in an MMO, and putting long-time players on a level playing field with fresh-faced newcomers gets rid of the elitism that’s usually rampant in games like this.

End of Nations Developer Petroglyph Hit with Layoffs

Right on the heels of yesterday’s news that NCsoft had laid off part of its Seattle staff, Eurogamer reports that End of Nations developer, Petroglyph, has also been impacted by a round of layoffs. The report indicates that as many as 30 may have been affected. The report was reinforced by Twitter post from End of Nations Designer Adam Stevens who wrote, “Layoffs at Petroglyph. Looking like I’ll be Leaving Las Vegas.”

Naturally this led to speculation of the game’s cancellation, but End of Nations Community Manager Lance James took to the forums to indicate otherwise and announce that the game’s development is still pushing forward and has been moved in-house to Trion’s development studio in San Diego.

Hey guys, I wanted to give you a status update on End of Nations and let you know that we’re still moving full steam ahead with the game.Since our last state of the game announcement we have been hard at work on getting End of Nations to where we want it to be. We are committed to making End of Nations meet our standard of AAA and we will continue to develop the game until it meets our standards. Rest assured that we are not giving up on End of Nations and that we are set on giving fans what they want.

To give you a little sneak peek into what we are working on, some of the changes you’ll notice will include improvements that ease the learning curve for new players, a revamped UI system, advancements in player strategy, and most importantly a more polished overall game.

As End of Nations was reaching the pre-launch phase in its lifecycle, we officially brought the game development in house to Trion’s San Diego Studio and will complete the development internally. Our team has been hard at work implementing many changes based on your feedback from the beta events. Keep checking back for more updates as we are looking forward to showing off some of the cool new things the team has been working on.

Ghost Recon Online: The Fact That It Is A Difficult Game

Over the course of the Closed Beta, and Open Beta season I have seen players quit Ghost Recon Online because they claim it was too difficult. With the cover system being the main feature of the game, along with special abilities for the three different class it is no wonder why players claim that it is too difficult. Difficult in a sense that this game takes a bit more strategy, skill and especially patience compared to the generic run and gun shooters. In Call of Duty, players run and gun all the time with no sense of hesitation, but being ghost recon is a bit different, running and gunning will get you killed (unless your a recon that has cloak). The cover system is what I think makes this game so difficult, it is either players learn to adapt to a new game setting, or players learn to quit a game so soon. But other than the games mechanics, the level up system is what I also truly see frustrating players. I do agree with the fact that higher level players shouldn’t have a major advantage over lower level players, but with time comes great opportunity. I know it is difficult versing players who have a higher level weapon (which often is considered better than the lower level weapons), with better armor, devices and a major experience gap but that just means it is more difficult to kill them. If you are a true “Ghost” then you will stick it out through good and bad times.

The truth behind Ghost Recon Online is that it is a difficult game that require a lot of tactics, skills, and a whole bunch of luck. The cover system along with the use of abilities will either make the difference between an average player, to a highly competitive player. Anyone can go behind a wall and start shooting, but with the use of effective timing, and a little bit of luck a kill can be reached. I have always talked about luck, but with the critical system having a certain percentage to activate after every shot, it can really make the difference in a battle. Having a critical hit can relieve you from firing one more round into another player, which saves you time, ammo and sometimes your life.

With three classes to choose with from such as an Assault (Assault Rifles, and shotguns), Recon (Snipers and Sub- Machine Guns) and Specialist (Light Machine Guns and Shotguns) it might make it a difficult choice for players to choose from. But along with other variables such as the type of armor, health and even abilities players are always complaining about either other classes being too strong or too weak. Every class has their respective strong points and weak points and should be played accordingly for maximum efficiency. Perhaps it is the lack of knowledge of each class but when you are having trouble with a class, there is another player who excels at it. Know each class, guns, armor and even devices strong and weak points and players shouldn’t have a difficult time choosing. Whether you play the class the way it is suppose to be played, or play the class how ever you want it will be a difficult match if you don’t know what you are doing.

Leveling up and having access to better weapons is what players sometimes complain about. Also known as a leveling system, players are being frustrated with players having better access to weapons. Here is how difficult it gets facing a higher level player. I know the cheytac or dragunov is much better than the GI~level 10 snipers, or the f2000 having better control than the super fast firing sar-21 c assault but these weapons are much better (stat wise than the lower level weapons). The armor difference between a low level armor and a high level armor is huge. Players who have high level armor, either move faster, or receive more hits compared to a lower level. Devices can also be an issue as the squad device can give a little boost to players. Devices can range from faster device recharge, gunshot detector to more armor. Having a high level device ability can mean a player can use that ability more often, have better effects and/or be much more deadly than a low level using the exact same device. Other than the controls of the game, this is one huge factor that makes the game a bit more difficult. Facing a team of higher levels can ultimately spell defeat if your team cannot counter attack. But don’t be discourage just because these players have higher level armor than you. By playing the game fluently and giving your best shot tactically, and skillfully these “higher level” enemies will not bother you. Take upon the challenge and if you are a low level beating a high level with full equipment, imagine what you can do once you buy full high level gear and weapons. Just because these enemies have a higher advantage stat wise, doesn’t mean that they are invincible. This will help you become a better player as you know that the enemy has an upper hand while you try your best to kill them.

This game has a steep learning curve, so steep that Ghost Recon Online has implemented a matchmaking system only for low levels (1-5). This goes to show, with a lot of quitting threads and posts that this game is not your typical shooter. With a difficulty that is evident, players who quit always say that this game should not be recommended to anyone. I agree that this game shouldn’t be recommended for anyone, anyone who can’t take a good skill base challenge.

Ultima Online Will Fix a Significant Number of Bugs

Fish pies not being stackable, mushrooms exploding under your house, and gargoyles activating their stone form mid-flight, are these things boring you? Whatever your answer is, they are not going to happen again, because Ultima Online has a patch for you, and they just got a whole bucket of fixes and updates posted to the test server.

In the updates, Lava Lobster fishing has been fixed, hats have stopped twitching, and gargoyle aprons have all been returned to their proper hue.At long last, golems can no longer be used to exploit combat training, and vendors are seeing some big changes. Rather than increasing their fees once per day, vendors will charge incrementally over time.

They’ll also give players a grace period before heading out after running out of funds, and all vending penalties have been abolished. Hit up the official patch notes for the lengthy list, if only so you can learn that “Robin’s Egg candy will no longer fill the tummy of the eater.”
