Fortnite Players Aren’t Happy With Fallout Crossover

Fortnite players are voicing their complaints about the game’s recent crossover with the Fallout franchise, railing against the lackluster selection of new cosmetics. Throughout the life of the Epic Games battle royale, the game has become widely known for its many crossovers with popular games and media franchises. Epic Games has brought everything from Family Guy to Dragon Ball Z into its flagship title, with a recent Fortnite crossover even adding Metallica to the game. However, one of the game’s newest crossovers is seeing mixed reception from fans.

Fortnite officially launched its highly-anticipated crossover with Bethesda’s Fallout series late last month, bringing the beloved post-apocalyptic RPG to the battle royale. The launch of Chapter 5 Season 3 introduced Fallout’s iconic power armor as an exclusive cosmetic through the game’s Battle Pass, alongside Nuka-Cola as an in-game healing item. Epic Games also added a back bling based on the Fallout franchise mascot Vault Boy, available through the in-game shop. Now, however, Fortnite players are pitching their complaints about the slim lineup for the collab.

As reported by Dexerto, recent weeks have seen fans of Fortnite raising plenty of concerns about the Fallout crossover, given the lack of new content following its release. Though the crossover was hyped up as a major event for Season 3, Fortnite has not released any new cosmetics based on Fallout since the season’s launch in late May. Many fans have complained that the crossover feels extremely lacking, with only a Fallout battle pass skin and one back bling available as cosmetics. Fortnite’s Fallout crossover is expected to end on August 16.

The lack of content from the Fallout crossover has seen plenty of fans make their own suggestions for the remainder of the event. Some have suggested ideas for new skins in Fortnite based on the series, including the Fallout franchise’s Ghouls and Fallout New Vegas’ Ranger as a skin. Others have brought up the idea of new content from the Amazon Prime Fallout adaptation, including main character Lucy. One fan even referenced a meme featuring Fortnite’s default characters wearing Vault uniforms, suggesting they would have “gladly taken” that over the current offerings.

The concern over the lackluster Fallout crossover comes as Fortnite continues to roll out more new content from other media. Epic Games recently confirmed Fortnite’s upcoming collaboration with Pirates of the Caribbean, with Jack Sparrow and crew set to arrive at the game on July 19. Leaks and rumors have also hinted at several other franchises planned to be added to Fortnite, with both Amazon’s The Boys and Square-Enix’s Kingdom Hearts as possible candidates. Fortnite fans can only hope that Epic Games has more to come for the Fallout crossover before it ends in August.
