Fortnite started its third season of Chapter 5 on May 24. While the new season has generally received praise, many players have become frustrated with the powerful vehicles in Fortnite. Vehicles now have several options for mods that can be seen as overpowered, especially when coupled with their health regeneration abilities.
On May 30, Epic Games released a hotfix to Fortnite that changed several things about vehicles. The Boom Bolt weapon, which has been instrumental in dealing with vehicles on foot in Fortnite, had its damage increased to cars. Vehicles under the effects of the new nitro mechanic have had their turret fire rates reduced. Machine gun turrets on cars had their accuracy reduced, and a vehicle’s overall health was reduced in solos. Nitro Gauntlets have also been nerfed, with an extra 3 seconds being added for them to recharge.

The heavy sniper is currently missing some sound effects but may be arriving in the game soon. A leak from dataminers on Twitter revealed a Lethal Company set in Fortnite that includes a skin, an emote, a pickaxe, and a back bling. There’s been no official word yet as to when this collaboration will be released, but the files for it are currently found within the game. Epic Games has not officially acknowledged the collaboration at this time.
Recently, there have been a massive number of leaks leading up to the next season. Fortnite may be having a Marvel-themed crossover with Wolverine and Deadpool, and possibly even a collaboration with the Fantastic Four. Both of these seem slated for Chapter 5 Season 4, and that isn’t scheduled to start until August.
